FAQ

Where is your office?

My office is in the village area of Claremont at the following address:

428 W. Harrison Avenue
Claremont, CA 91711

It’s the two-story East Coast-style office building on the southwest corner of Indian Hill and Harrison Avenue.

What are your hours?

I’m in the office Monday through Friday, and my hours vary a bit day-to-day.

A typical day can begin at 11, 12, or 1 and may end at 5, 6, or 7.

I am good at working with an ever-moving schedule of many individuals. If a crisis arises, I will do my best to weave you into my schedule.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 to 60 minutes for individuals.

Conjoint/family/couple sessions are typically for 75 to 90 minutes.

What is your fee for services, or what is my investment into services?

Therapy is a growth, wellness, and self-care process that requires time, energy, and finances. In the big picture, it is an ongoing, life-changing resource. Therapy is an investment in yourself.

Individual Sessions
50/60 minutes: $160
90 minutes: $240

Conjoint/Family/Couples Sessions
75 minutes: $200
90 minutes: $240

Do you take insurance?

No, I don’t submit claims to insurance companies.

However, I can provide superbills for you to send to your insurance company for reimbursement.

What is your cancellation policy?
My cancellation policy is the typical 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
How long have you been in practice?

I’ve been in practice for almost 30years. It’s been an amazing journey going from full-time private practice to working in non-profit community outpatient agencies to coming full circle and once again managing a full-time private practice.

I truly love coming to my office to be with those seeking help and support with matters of the heart and other life issues.

What are your strengths as a therapist?

One of my strengths is listening to your life story and gathering the information we need to work together.

Another strength is to hold space for you to share your deepest fears or scariest moments. Honestly, my ears have heard some of the most life-jarring stories imaginable – and beyond.

Another strength is my compassion and passion for serving others has not dwindled; in fact, my compassion for what we humans endure in life has only deepened over the years. Honestly, we’re all in this together, yet we must find our individual paths to live our life fully with love, heart, and kindness.

What do you enjoy about being a therapist?
Every day in the office with clients is never exactly the same or predictable. Yet, there is predictability in the therapeutic process – the goal is to heal, recover, and reclaim yourself into wholeness and live life with more love and joy than you’ve ever imagined.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Oh, yes!
What is your educational background?

I earned a master’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Cultural Anthropology in September 1992.

My post-graduate education has fed my heart and soul and kept my passion ignited to learn as much as possible to help others.

I am certified in Sandtray Worldplay for adults and children after years of training with Giesla Schubach De Dominco. I have a post-graduate education in Bioenergetics Analysis; I trained with the most amazing trainers and Alexander Lowen, founder, for four years.

John Brier, Bessel Von Der Kolk, Joanna Bendiner, Glenda Walthers, Gail Warner, and numerous others have deeply impacted my professional growth and development. They’ve been guiding lights on my path of working with complex trauma, recovery, and self-care.

I’ve also had training in expressive movement/dance and continue to use it in my daily life for wellness and self-care.

What is the best way to get in touch with you?

Please use the contact form, reach out to me by phone at (909) 584-5963, or email me.

What do you do for self-care and wellness?

Gosh, I have a lot of interests close to my heart and soul.

Frame drumming is my passion and love – it’s been a lifesaver during the Pandemic.

Before the Pandemic, I danced once a week or more in communities known as 5 Rhythms, Soul Motion, and Open Floor. Zoom enabled us to continue dancing.

Cats, Dogs, Chickens

I have cats and dogs. I can’t imagine life without these fur babies. I also have some lovely chickens that have the best personalities. All of them get along.

Did you know that chickens have great memories? They recognize their human family and their extended family of dogs and cats.

My fur babies are Lola, Rahu, Rorschach, Talula, and Ruckus.

My feathered loved ones are Maya, Dharma, Amelia Egghart (aka Emmie), Bhakti, and Queen Bee.

Do you have a favorite book?

My all-time favorite is Rain of Gold, by Victor Villasenor. It’s based on real life. But I also enjoy these others:

Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson

Women Who Run with The Wolves, by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D.

The House of the Spirits, by Isabelle Allende

What are some other interests?
I also enjoy gardening, hiking, writing, and dancing with the waves.
